Quebec’s 2022 immigration plan

Quebec released their immigration plan for The Quebec Immigration plan for 2022 to the National Assembly, in accordance with the provisions of the Quebec Immigration Act which has indicated plans for the admission of 49,500 to 52,500 immigrants in 2022. Also to catch-up of 18,000 where were not attained due to Covid health crisis. The province will admit up to 70,000  newcomers which will be a record for the Quebec province.

Canadian news CIC news wrote that Quebec province pointed for higher immigration as part of the solution to better meet the province’s labor market needs. The president of the Quebec Employer’s council wrote an article in July providing ten solutions to tackle worker shortages, and in September, Quebec manufacturers and exporters published a report that labour shortages cost the province $18 billion over the past two years and suggested more immigrants to help solve this ongoing problem.
