The world’s first Museum of the Future officially opened in Dubai on Wednesday. The museum, which is part of the city’s futuristic Dubai Innovation Centre, was designed to be a venue for social transformation and inspiration.
In order to create a vision for the future that will shape how people live their lives today and tomorrow, designers invited thousands of people from around the world to participate in an online forum, sharing ideas about what they want in their homes, cities, and communities ten years from now.

The museum’s five main galleries are “A Common Future,” “Eco-Cities,” “Smart Cities,” “Expeditions” and “Cityofstories.”

Dubai’s Museum of the Future, which aims to explore the future of megacities and life on earth in the year 2050, has opened in the United Arab Emirates.
The museum will focus on three themes: sustainability, mobility, and life in a connected world. It is expected to attract more than six million visitors annually when it opens to the public in 2018.
