Alder unveils $490m city project in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island

Alder B.V., the Dutch-based international infrastructure investor and developer, has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Abu Dhabi Aldar Properties PJSC (ADAPP) has unveiled a new mixed-use development in the city of Abu Dhabi on Yas Island.

Alder is an investment company based in Amsterdam, with office locations throughout Europe and North America. With over 100 years’ experience as an independent infrastructure investor and developer, Alder manages €5 billion of assets around the world.

Background of Yas Island

The Yas Island, home of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, is a destination like no other. The destination includes two world-class golf courses and the Yas Marina Circuit – where the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is held and where some of the best racing drivers test their mettle.

The Yas Marina Circuit is a spectacular venue for motorsport that was designed by Hermann Tilke and plays host to the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The circuit is 2.71 miles long, with a grandstand capacity of 60,000 people.

With a focus on the dynamic growth and development of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, the master-planning of Yas Island has set out to create one of the world’s most compelling destinations.

The vision for Yas Island seeks to create a destination that will be an integral part of Abu Dhabi’s future; where people from every corner of the world would want to come and enjoy a wide variety of experiences.

The Alder project in numbers!

Aldar, which has developed a number of projects in Abu Dhabi such as Ferrari World and Yas Mall, reported an 11 per cent jump in its third-quarter profit on the back of record quarterly development sales. It unveiled several new projects recently, including Yas Acres Magnolias and Al Gurm Phase II.

“The project will have 864 units and is positioned to complement other products Aldar is developing there,” Mr Emery said, reported by National News.

“Aldar today has a 2050 sustainability criteria and this partnership adds a lot of value to the table and allows us also to grow in achieving UAE’s sustainability agenda,” Mr Habib, reported by National News.
